Newport Road JOB

1/14 @0306, Company 2 dispatched for a reported house fire at 717 Newport Road. Upon going enroute, Chief 2-1 (Worner) was advised of multiple calls reporting a well involved house. Squad 2 (Asst. Chief Conrad) and Chief Worner arrived to find the first floor of a 1.5 story single family house fully involved. Squad crews went to work pulling a 200' 2 1/2" attack line and began suppression on side A, while Engine 2 (FF Wise) pulled a 250' 1 3/4" attack line to begin fire suppression on side C. Truck 2 (Lt. Bissonnette) arrived, and set up on side A, and began attacking the bulk of the fire with their master stream. Engine 8 (New Bloomfield) set up a fill site on Sulphur Springs road for tanker shuttles. After darkening down the bulk of the fire, crews went interior to begin opening up and extinguishing the remaining fire, while Truck crews vented the roof. One of the occupants was awoken by a family pet, whom then alerted the rest of the occupants.
